It occurred to me that I haven’t actually done that many posts on backlinking methods so I thought I would write one today which is one of my favourite backlinking methods and that is finding pages on websites that no longer offer a service or product and “helping them out” by saying do you want to instead link to my site? Its a powerful technique if used correctly but does take some time, so I will try and only include the essential information you need to know when performing this technique.
Copy one of the below search enquiers into Google.
- “service no longer available”
- “service no longer available” [keyword]
- “service no longer available” inurl:.ac.uk (or inurl:.edu)
- “no longer available [keyphrase]”
- “site no longer available”
- “site no longer available” [keyphrase]
- “site has been taken down”
- “site has been taken down” [keyphrase]
This will give you results of people’s sites who have a page that is essentially useless to them and hence you will email the webmaster and say something along the lines of: “Hi, I noticed your page: XXXX on your website is no longer offering XXX service. We actually have a website that is pretty similar to this but is still active and thriving if you would like to link to it and help your visitors find what they came to your page for?”
Its a simply script but it also pretty effective. Most people talk about how much would you spend for a PR5/6 link and the answers usually come into the hundreds, whereas this method is more about how much time would you spend searching for that link? The advantage to this method is the amount of traffic you will receive as well as SEO advantage is huge and is why this is a method I love using. Alright that’s it for now guys and as always:
